A person of the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide, has launched a grassroots mobilisation and empowerment drive targeting one million Yoruba residents across Kano Declare in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Abejide, who represents Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi Status, announced the initiative subsequent to inaugurating a 27-associate committee to coordinate the programme across Kano’s 44 regional government areas.

He charged members of the committee to secure that the initiative was implemented transparently and that assistance reached humans who genuinely needed it.
“This committee must be understandable and upright. We must confirm that the empowerment gets to the individuals who genuinely refer to for it, notably our widows, the fewer privileged and vulnerable members of our community,” he said.
Abejide said his connect alongside Kano predated his political activities, noting that he had lived and conducted enterprise in the condition and founded longstanding relationships including residents.
“I belong to two states in Nigeria, Kogi Status and Kano Situation. I lived here, I did firm here and I have built reliable relationships together with the humans,” he said.
He described the initiative as an possibility to provide support to the network although mobilising assist for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
