Nigeria doesn’t summon for trial-and-error economics – Sambo

Arise Television Director of News/Politics Editor, Sumner Sambo, says Nigeria does not demand trial-and-error economics but political restructuring that would upgrade the lives of every national.

Sambo made this assertion on Wednesday whereas fielding questions in an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time.

He said Nigeria had undergone plenty economic experiments, lamenting that citizens, generally the low-quality, were suffering given that there had been no reform of the systems of governance.

“Nigeria has had adequate economic experiments (trial-and-error) that have been continuing. What we prefer now is political restructuring.

If he gets a second term, we contact for political reforms. The price of governance is so high; the split in the middle of those being governed and those in government is just extremely extensive.

“Tinubu has done extremely well.

So, I’m thinking it’s time for us to revisit political reforms.

“Nigerians are suffering so much owing to the reality that we haven’t even reformed the systems of governance.

It was a carryover of the development plans that we had in the ’70s, and then, of course, taking a look at even some things like how to take out-of-school children from the streets.

Given that there are some things there that are actually extremely effective.

“Can our politicians actually go endorse to that file?

“It had the economy, politics, governance and all of that wielded together to actually drive it. But unfortunately, that could not be clinically implemented given that Abacha died at the time.

For instance, take a look at Vision 2010 that Abacha put in place. Beautiful plans and all of that.

“Now, look at the statistics and look at the visions that we’ve had.

“I consider if we have political restructuring, it will lesser the charge of governance,” he said.
