Borno police disburse N18.3m to households of fallen officers

The Commissioner of Police in Borno State, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, has disbursed a complete of N18.38 million to households of cops who died within the line of obligation underneath the Nigeria Police Drive Group Life Assurance Scheme.

In accordance with an announcement issued by the general public Relations Offficver of the command, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the sum of N18,384,135.84 was paid to 9 beneficiaries comprising next-of-kin and members of the family of deceased officers.

The assertion famous that the officers “paid the supreme value whereas serving the nation with braveness, dedication, and professionalism,” including that the disbursement was a part of broader welfare schemes out there to households of fallen personnel.

Talking throughout the cheque presentation ceremony on behalf of the Inspector-Basic of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, CP Abdulmajid stated the welfare of officers and their households remained a high precedence of the Drive.

The commissioner urged the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds, advising that they be channelled in the direction of “the training, healthcare, and normal wellbeing of their households.”

He additionally recommended the Inspector-Basic of Police for sustaining the scheme, noting that such initiatives present “essential monetary aid and long-term stability to the households of fallen heroes.”
