The Nationwide Vanguard for Democratic Coalition (NVDC) has backed renewed efforts to question Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
NVDC Coordinator Mr Felix White, in an announcement on Saturday, urged the Rivers State Home of Meeting to implement constitutional provisions after the governor allegedly didn’t current the 2026 Appropriation Invoice.
He stated: “Any try by the Meeting to desert the impeachment course of would quantity to a betrayal of democratic ideas”.
White famous that that is the third try and take away Gov. Fubara since 2023, reflecting rising considerations about his relationship with the legislature.
He accused the governor of fuelling the state’s political disaster by way of actions that “undermine constitutional order and the separation of powers”.
“On the centre of the controversy is Governor Fubara’s alleged failure to current the 2026 Appropriation Invoice to the Meeting, an unprecedented transfer amongst serving governors within the nation,” the assertion learn.
