The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will implement floor lease violations, Certificates of Possession (C of O), and land use conversion charges throughout the FCT.
Mr Chijioke Nwankwoeze, FCTA Director of Land Administration, disclosed this after the FCT’s Government Council assembly, chaired by the Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja on Wednesday.
He stated enforcement will start subsequent week and embody revocation of titles and sealing of defaulting properties.
Nwankwoeze recalled that in 2025, the FCTA reviewed properties in default on their allotted land makes use of.
He added that some homeowners have defaulted on floor lease funds, whereas others haven’t paid for his or her C of O.
On land use violations, he defined that sure lands initially allotted for residential use had been illegally transformed to business functions.
“These actions violate the phrases and situations of the granted rights of occupancy,” Nwankwoeze stated.
He stated that the affected properties had been situated alongside Aminu Kano Crescent, Adetokumba Ademola Crescent, Wuse 2, Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Space 7, Space 8 in Garki, and different areas.
“The FCTA reviewed these areas, confirmed their present use could be sustained, and transformed them in keeping with planning requirements.
“Public notices had been issued in newspapers, digital and social media, asking property holders to come back ahead and pay.
“Letters of conveyance of approval had been despatched to allottees. Some have paid, others haven’t.
“Defaulters on floor rents, C of O funds, and land use conversion charges are hereby notified enforcement begins subsequent week.
“So it’s left so that you can comply or face no matter actions we see obligatory,” Nwankwoeze stated. (NAN)
