The Unbiased Newspapers Ltd., publishers of the Unbiased Newspaper, is about for its 2026 annual awards which will coincide with its ilver Jubilee anniversary.
The Chairman, Awards Committee of the organisation, Mr Yemi Adebisi, mentioned at a media briefing in Lagos on Wednesday that the awards would function 25 classes.
He mentioned that every class would have three nominees.
He mentioned that the classes would come with enterprise, governance and key sectors of the Nigerian economic system.
Adebisi mentioned that notable awards would come with Man of the 12 months, Monetary Sector Regulator of the 12 months, and Lifetime Achievement.
The chairman added that the annual ceremony would happen on April 18 at Eko Lodge and Suites, Lagos.
He mentioned a big departure from earlier editions can be that members of the general public would take part within the voting course of.
Based on Adebisi, the 2026 version is the organisation’s Silver Jubilee version because it coincides with 25 years of existence of the organisation.
Adebisi mentioned that nominations can be assessed by a board of editors, an unbiased jury and revered Nigerians.
Based on him, that is to make sure credibility, equity and transparency.
He mentioned that the ultimate shortlist can be publicly introduced.
He mentioned: “Nomination opens on Jan. 15 and it closes on Feb. 12. Shortlist announcement is on March 31, and public voting might be completed from March 31 to April 14 whereas the awards ceremony takes place on April 18.
“Nominees might be assessed primarily based on measurable impacts, innovation, management, sustainability, contribution to nationwide growth, and adherence to moral requirements.
“Nominees have to be Nigerian residents or organisations working in Nigeria. Achievements will need to have occurred or had vital influence in 2025.
“Organisations have to be duly registered and operational in Nigeria, whereas public officers have to be at the moment serving or have served inside the interval,” he mentioned.
The chairman mentioned the occasion would have the theme: “Gamechangers, Breaking Boundaries and Shaping Tomorrow”.
