Nigerian businessman and political commentator, Isaac Fayose, has challenged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over his proclamation that he would resign if President Bola Tinubu fails to win the Federal Assets Territory and Rivers Status in the 2027 presidential election.
Naija News reports that Wike made the observation on Wednesday during an engagement together with leaders and members of the Apo Mechanics and Traders Tie in Abuja.
The FCT minister said the presidential election was scheduled for January 16, 2027, adding that he would proclaim his resignation the following day if Tinubu lost both territories.
Wike said, “If I cannot provide where I labor, then I’m not worthy to be here. Tinubu is tired; he needs to be retired so that Nigeria can travel forward.
