The Nigerian Air Drive (NAF) has sustained a sequence of intelligence-driven air interdiction operations throughout the North-East and North-West, neutralising terrorist components and degrading their logistics and operational networks.
The Director of Public Relations and Data, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, stated in a press release on Saturday that the operations have been performed between Jan. 1 and Jan. 2 underneath Operations HADIN KAI and FASAN YAMMA Sector 2.
Ejodame stated the air strikes have been based mostly on actionable intelligence on terrorist motion, hideouts and logistics, with NAF plane participating recognized enclaves, routes and meeting areas to disclaim the teams freedom of motion.
He stated within the North-East theatre, NAF plane carried out precision strikes on terrorist hideouts at Abirma and Chiralia within the Timbuktu Triangle, following sustained surveillance that confirmed the presence of services linked to improvised explosive machine (IED) manufacturing and assault planning.
In line with him, the strikes destroyed the focused constructions, with a number of secondary explosions noticed, indicating the destruction of explosive stockpiles and logistics.
Ejodame added that additional interdiction missions at Guva within the Mandara Mountains dismantled further terrorist storage and coordination factors, considerably weakening the teams’ capability to regroup or mount assaults.
He stated the operations have been prolonged to the North-West, the place NAF plane struck terrorist components round Karaduwa Giginya Na in Matazu Native Authorities Space of Katsina State.
The NAF spokesman stated the terrorists, who have been tracked transferring in giant motorbike convoys, have been engaged at a forested convergence level, resulting in the neutralisation of a number of fighters, destruction of a number of bikes and restoration of various weapons.
