Police arrest six over alleged sale of Nasarawa youngster for N3m

Police arrest six over alleged sale of Nasarawa youngster for N3m

The police in Nasarawa State have arrested six individuals over the alleged sale of an eight-year-old boy for N3 million.

The arrests adopted intelligence studies indicating {that a} lacking youngster was being held by the State Prison Investigation Division (SCID) of the Abia State Police Command.

The event was disclosed in a put up shared on X on Monday by safety analyst Zagazola Makama.

Based on the put up, the knowledge was acquired on January 14 after the boy, recognized as Jeremiah Bikwo, was present in protecting custody in Abia State.

Throughout questioning, the kid advised cops that he was from Loko in Nasarawa Native Authorities Space of Nasarawa State.

Additional investigations revealed that the boy is from Ogobo Village in Loko LGA.

“Detectives then expanded their investigation to Abia State, the place it was found on January 17 that the kid had allegedly been offered for N3 million,” Makama wrote.

Police sources mentioned six suspects have been arrested in reference to the case.

“They’re Chilaka Calista Nneka, 33; Chigbu Cynthia, 36; Michael Ibeh Chioma, 52; and Victoria Ositadinma, 53, all residents of Abia State.

The opposite suspects are Alhassan Bama, 35, from Ogobo Village, Loko LGA, and Jacob Jonah, 38, from Olegefe Village, additionally in Loko LGA of Nasarawa State,” he mentioned.

It was gathered that the suspects have confessed to their roles within the alleged trafficking of the kid.

The suspects are at the moment in police custody, whereas investigations are ongoing to trace down different members of the trafficking community.

Police authorities mentioned the rescued youngster is secure and beneath safety as efforts proceed to make sure that justice is served.
