Ebonyi State Police Command has rescued a six-year-old kidnapped youngster and arrested two suspects.
In a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officier within the state, Ukandu Joshua on Thursday, the police disclosed that on sixth January 2026, one Mrs. Obasi Daberechi reported that her six-year-old daughter was kidnapped from her store at Onuebonyi axis of Abakaliki the state capital.
In keeping with Ukandu, the suspects, who posed as clients, subsequently demanded a ransom of fifty million naira (₦50,000,000) for the kid’s launch.
He disclosed that appearing swiftly on the report, operatives of the Command connected to the Fast Response Squad, via painstaking and diligent investigation, traced the abductors to their hideout at Agogboriga Structure, Abakaliki and rescued her unharmed.
“Two male suspects, particularly Okafor Ofubuike (23 years) and Chisom Daniel (23 years), had been arrested in reference to the kidnapping. They’re at the moment beneath investigation and can be charged to courtroom upon the conclusion of investigations,” Ukandu assured.
