Seven individuals have been killed in a motor accident alongside Damaturu-Damagum Street, Gaggaba village in Fune Native Authorities Space of Yobe State.
The spokesman, Yobe Police Command, Dungus Abdulkarim, mentioned the incident occurred round 01:20 pm on Thursday.

“The Yobe State Police Command regrets to tell the general public of a deadly motorized vehicle accident that occurred on fifteenth January, 2026, at about 0120 hours, at Gaggaba Village, inside the Damagum space,” Abdulkarim mentioned.
“Preliminary investigation revealed {that a} accident concerned a DAF trailer with Registration Quantity DAL 963 YY, pushed by one Malam Abubakar, aged 35 years, of Maiduguri, Borno State, who was travelling from Lagos to Maiduguri, and a Mitsubishi Canter with Registration Quantity XA 437 NNR, pushed by one Salisu Ibrahim, of Dirra Village, by way of Fune Native Authorities Space” the police spokesman mentioned in assertion.
“It was gathered that upon reaching some extent at Gaggaba Village, the Mitsubishi Canter, allegedly pushed at extreme velocity, veered off its lane and rammed into the oncoming DAF trailer.”

He mentioned on account of the collision, each drivers, three occupants of the trailer, and two occupants of the Mitsubishi Canter, making a complete of seven individuals, misplaced their lives on the spot.
Whereas sympathizing with the households of the deceased, The Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, expressed concern over the rising instances of street visitors accidents—which claimed 120 lives throughout the state in 2025—requires collective options.
