Woman arraigned over alleged OPay impersonation

A 31-year-earlier woman, Funke Femiloba, has been arraigned in advance of a Magistrate Court in Lagos over alleged impersonation of OPay Electronic Services Restricted and obtaining finance from members of the audience under incorrect pretence.

Femiloba was arraigned on September 24, 2026, on a four-count rate filed as case quantity MIK/P/53/26.

The police alleged that the defendant conspired together with others now at substantial to receive finance by incorrect pretence and falsely represented herself as a group person of OPay Computerized Services Limited.

Following her arraignment, the court structured that Femiloba be remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Offering.

The case was subsequently adjourned before November 30, 2026, for hearing.

In the primary count, the police alleged that Femiloba and others now at big, sometime in September 2026, in Ikeja, Lagos, conspired to commit a felony, namely obtaining by invalid pretence.

The offence was said to be contrary to and punishable under Division 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos Declare 2015.

In the second count, the police accused Femiloba and the other suspects of impersonating a employees participant of OPay Digital Services Restricted, allegedly representing herself in a capacity she knew to be untrue.

The alleged offence was brought under Portion 78 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos Status 2015.

The third count alleged that the defendant and others conducted themselves in a path plausible to cause a breach of peace by misleading members of the community.

The police said the alleged conduct contravened Division 168(d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos Declare 2015.

In the fourth count, Femiloba was accused of obtaining a defined figure of capital from a component of the people.

The alleged offence was said to contravene Component 313 and be punishable under Portion 314 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos Status 2015.
