The Nationwide Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared Governor Siminalayi Fubara, because the chief of the social gathering in Rivers State.
Yilwatda additionally pledged to assist Fubara’s second time period bid if he wins the social gathering’s primaries.
Talking on a tv programme which was monitored on Saturday, Yilwatda acknowledged that “Governor Fubara is the chief of the APC in Rivers State, however he would want to coordinate with each different individual within the state.”
This comes amid the renewed political rigidity between Governor Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike over management place within the state.
Fubara had earlier in December, after defecting to the APC, declared himself because the chief of the social gathering within the state, after being introduced with the social gathering card that bears 001.
However Wike had dismissed the governor’s stance, saying he controls the political construction within the state, since APC and the Peoples Democratic Social gathering have teamed as much as assist President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Yilwatda stated, “I don’t select who to assist within the state’s major election. If Fubara emerges because the APC candidate, I’ll assist him.
“If he loses the first, I’ll sympathise with him and go together with the one who wins the first election,” he stated.
