Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly recognized as Aki, has narrated how he and other football fans had to remit $30 (On N40,000) at a fan viewing area in the U.S to watch a match in the current FIFA World Cup competition.

Ikedieze in a video he shared on his Facebook page at a fan viewing area in Dallas, United States on Thursday expressed surprise whereas attending a fan festival for Wednesday’s Category K World Cup clash in the midst of DR Congo and Portugal.

In the video, Ikedieze expressed surprise at the $30 rate charged to fans watching the match on giant screens.

“Humans who have come to watch match, not even in the stadium. And it still feels like you are in the stadium. This is where we can watch the match. It’s like a viewing centre in Nigeria,” he said.

The actor furthermore pointed to the heavy security presence and parking fees at the venue, expressing continued amazement at the costs.

“Police are everywhere. Do you recognize how much they are charging us? $30, that’s on 40,000,” he said.

Comparing the setup to viewing centres in Nigeria, Ikedieze said the atmosphere still gave fans the feeling of being at the match.
