The Secretary to the Authorities of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, has inaugurated 75 electrical bikes for the Federal Highway Security Corps (FRSC).

Akume described the initiative as a strategic increase to the FRSC’s operational capability and Nigeria’s inside safety framework.

Talking in Abuja, he stated the inauguration marked a milestone in strengthening the corps’ capability to safeguard lives and property nationwide.

He added that the initiative mirrored the Federal Authorities’s dedication beneath President Bola Tinubu’s administration to improved security and safety.

In response to Akume, the programme aligns with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, prioritising citizen safety, infrastructure safety and restored public confidence.

He famous that roads serve financial and social functions however are more and more exploited for legal actions.

“Crimes are being perpetrated on highways, benefiting from congestion, site visitors breakdowns and restricted entry in troublesome terrains,” Akume stated.

Akume stated the bikes would assist freeway patrols and enhance operational effectiveness throughout emergencies and safety interventions.

He added that the bikes have been cost-effective, environmentally pleasant and aligned with the administration’s clear power and sustainable transport insurance policies.

“Every motorbike has a spread of 150 to 160 kilometres per cost and a prime velocity of 100 kilometres per hour.

“They’re outfitted with sirens, amber lights, loudspeakers, digital shows, recording techniques and secured compartments for enforcement gear,” Akume stated.

He stated the initiative supported the President’s directive for a multi-agency, intelligence-driven and technology-supported safety strategy.

Akume pressured that safety remained a collective duty and couldn’t relaxation solely on authorities companies.

He famous that whereas the FRSC was established for street security, its position had advanced inside Nigeria’s inside safety structure.

In his remarks, FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, thanked the Federal Authorities and President Tinubu for the bikes.
