That being said, I have a lot of mum friends that are constantly looking for dairy alternatives specifically milk. If it looks like a foreign inspiration, as prolonged as the ingredients are introduce on Nigerian Soil in abundance then I will play together with that recipe and push it forward.
Egusi cream pasta is a recipe I have toyed together with in my mind for a whilst. To backtrack a little bit, I have consistently said that my recipes should be inspired by ingredients accessible to us.
To generate a creamy consistency, I thickened using some cornstarch to offer the consistency I was looking for. That may not have been required if I just integrated the egusi alongside water and sieved. You can experiment it and let me be aware of how it goes. I in time ended up boiling the egusi using a lot of water and sieving the milk from it. Please test this Egusi Cream Pasta recipe and let me be aware of if you like it.
Having debated the numerous outcomes and the countless achievable ways this could go, I considered just blending the egusi using water and sieving but i thought it may be too thick so what if I didn’t like it?
I consider there is a sure extent of brainwashing we involve in to look down on our ingredients beyond what we already recognize it to be used for.
For this detail recipe, I was a bit of a chicken and went the direction I did owing to the truth that I was not sure if I would like it or not.

RECIPE FOR EGUSI CREAM PASTA
It has become particularly tough to hold up.
A lot of children have developed allergies to dairy, gluten and a host of other things I don’t reflect were heavily display in my childhood. This inspired my thinking concerning the possibility of Egusi cream. We have seen oat milk, almond milk and soy milk speedy become staples in a lot of homes but the prices of these milk alternatives are across the roof particularly in Lagos. I digress.
