It was learnt that the names of some governorship candidates have been lacking from the checklist.
Among the omitted candidates have been former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Gombe State, and Chief Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu, the PDP candidate in Ogun State.
Reacting to the event, Akintola described the state of affairs as worrisome and unlucky.

“MURIC finds the omissions very disturbing, and that’s to say the least. We suspect a well-coordinated manoeuvre to outwit opposition events by all means doable.
“MURIC is of the humble opinion that INEC should allow the performance of the APC administration to persuade the electorate instead of adopting rough tackles against the opposition. This is not good enough in a heavily globalised world”, it added.
