EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development in a declaration, noting that the repatriation exercise was carried out in teamwork including the Nigerian Immigration Offering (NIS).
Oyewale stressed that greater convicted foreign nationals will be deported in the coming days, reaffirming that the commission would not enable Nigeria to become a protected haven for cybercriminals.
He said, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigerian Immigration Offering have repatriated 51 additional foreign nationals convicted and sentenced for cyber-terrorism and internet fraud.
“The repatriated foreign nationals conceal 50 Chinese and one Tunisian.
No fewer than 102 foreign nationals, including Chinese and Tunisian citizens, have been deported to their home countries later than being convicted and sentenced for cyber-terrorism and internet fraud in Nigeria.
The deportees were portion of 192 foreign nationals arrested during a sting operation conducted by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos.
