The Nigerian Authorities has empowered girls and cooperative teams in Akwa Ibom State with fishing boats and tools as a part of efforts to strengthen livelihoods and help small-scale financial actions in riverine communities.

The empowerment initiative, applied by means of a constituency improvement intervention, noticed the distribution of 10 absolutely geared up outboard engine fishing boats to beneficiaries drawn from riverine areas of Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, the place fishing stays a serious supply of earnings.

The presentation occurred in Ukana, Essien Udim Native Authorities Space of the state, in response to an announcement issued by the media workplace of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
