The Senate on Tuesday handed two key modification bills geared toward boosting native manufacturing capability and modernizing Nigeria’s public procurement practices.
The handed items of laws are the Raw Materials Research and Development Council Act (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria Establishment Act (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
The passage adopted a movement to rescind the Senate’s earlier choices on the bills and recommit them to the Committee of the Whole for legislative evaluation, after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu raised elementary observations.
