Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Monday met with former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, former Jigawa State Governor Abubakar Badaru and other political figures on the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The delegation, reportedly comprising leaders of the National Directorate of Arewa for Asiwaju Movement, arrived on the Presidential Villa at about 4 pm on October 12, 2026.
Others seen on the assembly included former Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong; Minister of Livestock Development Idi Maiha; former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman Professor Attahiru Jega; and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Chairman Brigadier General Buba Marwa (retd.).
The assembly comes two days earlier than the deliberate inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential marketing campaign committee, scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, in Abuja.
However, particulars of the discussions haven’t been made public, and it stays unclear whether or not the gathering was immediately related to the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
