The Yobe State Government has distributed 160 bikes and other operational items to 886 forest guards deployed to assist safety operations throughout the state.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Muhammad Goje, introduced the distribution on Tuesday, saying the items have been supposed to enhance the working situations and operational capability of the personnel.
The items embody 900 raincoats, 900 pairs of rain boots, 900 blankets, 900 torchlights and 900 mosquito nets.
Goje stated the intervention was made on behalf of Governor Mai Mala Buni to present extra safety assist and strengthen the safety of lives and property within the state.
The Commander of the 27 Task Force Brigade, Buni-Gari, Brigadier General M.S. Mukhtar, described the donation as a pressure multiplier that will improve the operational effectiveness of the forest guards.
