Aondoakaa Meets Benue Community Groups in Lagos, Outlines Priorities for the State

Benue community leaders and professionals in Lagos met with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate

for Benue State, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, at an interactive session organised by the
Lagos Support Network for MKA.

According to organisers, the session gave Benue indigenes living in Lagos an opportunity to put questions to the
former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice about his plans for the state. It is one of several
engagements he is holding with Benue communities ahead of the 2027 elections. In a separate engagement,
Aondoakaa
pledged student loans and a revival of scholarships in Benue.

Convener Backs Candidate

The convener of the Lagos Support Network for MKA, Hon. Paul Ahom Akinde, opened the session. He
said he supports Aondoakaa’s candidacy and pointed to his experience in public service as the reason Benue needs
experienced leadership.

Responding, Aondoakaa thanked the group for its support and promised to keep faith with Benue people. He listed
security, agriculture, rural infrastructure and youth employment as his priorities:

“Our mission is clear: restore peace, revamp our agricultural foundation, modernize rural infrastructure,
and open sustainable economic pathways for our youths.”

Who Attended

Representatives of several Benue socio-cultural groups and professional bodies took part, including:

  • Engr. Theophilus Ukaa, PhD: President-General, Mzough U Tiv (Lagos Chapter)
  • Barr. Audu, SAN
  • Barr. Paul Okwori: Representative, Idoma Community
  • Mr. Ogbodo J.: Representative, Igede Community
  • Hon. Joseph Nande: President, Tiv Youths in Lagos
  • Taver Ikuan: Assistant Comptroller of Customs

Several speakers said Aondoakaa had supported Benue professionals in the legal, security and public sectors during and
after his time as Attorney General. They said his legal background and national contacts could help the state
address its security and economic challenges. These remarks reflect the views of the speakers and organisers,

What Comes Next

After the session, Aondoakaa visited the Grand Patron of Mzough U Tiv Lagos, Chief Engr. Sylvanus Gasarah,
at his residence in Ikeja. Organisers said the Lagos tour would continue over the weekend with meetings involving
Tiv, Idoma and Igede groups.

The visit comes as parties position themselves for 2027. Elsewhere in the political space, former Secretary to the
Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal
has alleged that Atiku Abubakar rigged the ADC presidential primaries,
a claim Atiku has yet to be reported to have addressed in that coverage. Separately, a politician’s remarks on
his 2027 plans and Rivers State’s revenue
have also drawn attention.

Delegation:
Aondoakaa was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Patience Aondoakaa; Hon. Christopher Afaor; Dr. Terver Akase;
Barr. Terna Yaji; Dr. Toryila Akor; and Mr. Ngusha Aondoakaa.
