Adedokun stated this in an announcement by Zira Nagga, Head of Press and Public Relations, BPP, in Abuja on Tuesday.

He spoke towards the backdrop of the presentation of the 2026 Appropriation Invoice to the Nationwide Meeting by  President Bola Tinubu.

He expressed delight over the presidential validation of public procurement reforms and the “Nigeria First” Coverage contained within the 2026 price range.

Adedokun described the 2026 price range, with.the theme, “Finances of Consolidation, Renewed Resilience and Shared Prosperity” as a historic shift in Nigeria’s fiscal and industrial technique.

“For us on the BPP,  the President’s speech was not only a price range format; it was a transparent mandate to reform the soul of our procurement processes.

“Central to this mandate is the formal institution of the “Nigeria First Coverage” because the President rightly articulated throughout his handle to the Joint Session of the Nationwide Meeting,” he stated.

He quoted the President as saying that since November 2024, the federal government had launched into a complete framework of procurement reforms.

“These reforms have enhanced effectivity and generated important price financial savings for the federal government, leading to diminished processing instances for presidency contracts and higher enforcement procedures directed towards erring contractors and authorities officers.

“Our Nigeria First Coverage has been established to encourage self-sufficiency and sustainable progress inside Nigeria by selling home merchandise and companies.

“By mandating that each one Ministries, Departments, and Businesses (MDAs) contemplate Nigerian-made items and native firms as their major possibility, the coverage goals to assist native industries, create job alternatives, and scale back dependency on imported gadgets.”
