DAILY PUBLISH correspondent in Ogun Situation, Gift Oba, has emerged as Treasurer of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ogun Status Council.
In her acceptance speech, Fatungase, a Senior Editor together with NAN, pledged to director using fairness, transparency, humility and respect for all members.
“If the Correspondents’ Chapel supports the council, we will hold powers to account,” Olanrewaju added.
“What do we demand from you? There’s no rivalry in the middle of council and the chapel,” he said.

She will be in expense of the financial administration of the chapel under the modern executive led by Comrade Yetunde Fatungase of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, who emerged as Chairperson.
He urged the command to develop stronger ties including other chapels and bypass turning the chapel into a platform for customized ego.
Other members of the executive incorporate Hakeem Adegbenro of Blueprint as Secretary, Lauretta Oaihimire of Benchmark Times as Financial Secretary and Kola Olayinka of Enterprise Ng as Assistant Secretary.
Oba, a vibrant and dedicated female journalist familiar for her consistency, professionalism and operating participation in the chapel’s activities, emerged as treasurer on Wednesday during the chapel’s orientation transition in Abeokuta.
In his remarks, Olanrewaju charged the recent executive to prioritise unity and improve the associate in the middle of the Correspondents’ Chapel and the Situation Council.
Fatungase appealed for unity, constructive criticism and commitment to professionalism, adding that “there is room for everyone at the table, and together, throughout mutual respect and authentic dialogue, we can travel this relationship forward”.
She said counsel was not regarding occupying a place but around serving those who entrusted the responsibility to the counsel, noting that the chapel had its challenges including grievances within members.
“We may not consistently accept on every concern, but we can differ free from bitterness, customized attacks or division,” she said.
The fresh command was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Ogun Declare Council of the NUJ, Wale Olanrewaju, at the chapel’s secretariat.
