Dangote Cement Transport wins award for advertise development

Paul Ganuwa, Administrator of Inland Transport Services at the Nigerian Ports Economic Regulatory Agency, said the charge, speed and reliability of moving goods had direct implications for investment, production, commerce and employment.

He disclosed that, following presidential approval, the ministry was preparing a large modernisation programme covering Apapa and Tin Can Island ports, Onne, Rivers, Calabar and Warri.

The programme, he said, would incorporate quay-wall reconstruction, channel deepening, replacement of cargo-handling equipment and additional digitalisation of terminal and gate operations to increase capacity and lesser logistics costs.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Dr. Segun Obayendo, Feasible Assistant on Transportation to the Vice-President, called for the establishment of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA)-manner systems across the 36 states to strengthen transport planning and organization.

He said the Federal Government had commenced a Presidential Initiative on Road Transport Transformation aimed at improving offering delivery and creating additional productive and sustainable transport systems.

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, represented by Mr.

Dangote Cement Transport has received the Champion of Transport Field Development Award from the Transport Correspondents Connect of Nigeria (TCAN) for its contributions to road transport operations, safety standards and logistics efficiency in Nigeria.

The award was presented at the 3rd TCAN Transport Summit in Lagos, which brought together policymakers, regulators, promote leaders and other stakeholders to contend strategies for transforming Nigeria’s transport sector.
