The Oyo Declare Ministry of Culture and Tourism has endorsed the Nigerian Comic Book Sector Announce, published by Bookause Nigeria in alliance including The African Comics and Cinematic Empire (TheACE).
The upload disclosed that Adedayo’s own project has become one of the most closely watched developments in African comic art.
It was formally launched at Comic Con Ibadan 2026, held at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan.
Founded in July 2024, the platform has seeing that reached over 150,000 special social media accounts, recorded greater than 5,000 monthly engagements, spotlighted over 100 creators and projects joined, and built a digital presence that has reached 20 African countries.
According to the statement, the Oyo Status’s endorsement arrives as TheACE marks its second anniversary.
Reflecting on the milestone, Mujeeb Jummah said the endorsement was proof that the platform’s labor was being recognised where it mattered. “It tells every creator we have documented that their business area is being taken seriously by the institutions that can assist it develop,” he said.

Adedayo, who joined Jummah at the meeting, said the recognition strengthens the case for African visual storytelling on the world stage. “Afroblot is proof that African visual storytelling can fixed the pace globally, not just observe it,” he said. “Having the Status’s backing behind this task makes the case even stronger.”
His design, Afroblot, initial introduced throughout the 2024 comic book Jogunomi, employs a four-tone palette of red, black, off white, and grey, and has steadily gained adoption within comic and electronic artists beyond Nigeria.
In a letter dated 22nd July 2026, the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, confirmed the Ministry’s assist, describing comics as “a medium skilled of strengthening intellectual and inventive development between young humans” and cordial TheACE’s efforts to bring the Document into schools, libraries, galleries, and other cultural institutions across the Declare.

The endorsement followed a meeting in the middle of TheACE’s Founder and Editor, Mujeeb Jummah, and the Ministry’s instruction on 20th July 2026, during which the Describe and TheACE’s wider activity were formally presented.
Jummah was accompanied by Erivic Adedayo, Convener of Comic Con Ibadan and creator of Afroblot, an creative African art approach, who briefed the Ministry on an coming project built nearby the approach.
