Garba Musa Maitafsir, was flagged off at a ceremony attended by political leaders, collection representatives and other stakeholders at the weekend.
Speaking at the event, Maitafsir said he had signed an agreement together with the contracting business, Sanjay Engineering, to complete the project in 30 days.
He said he had deposited N150 million for the commencement of the effort, adding that he was planned to provide whatever additional resources might be required to secure its completion due to the extent of the damage.

Maitafsir called on residents to safeguard the restored infrastructure and continue cautious against vandalism.

Residents of Yabo and Shagari community government areas of Sokoto Situation are fixed to regain electricity following greater than three years of blackout caused by the vandalisation of power infrastructure.
The restoration project, sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Yabo-Shagari Federal Constituency, Prof. Sani Aliyu, assured residents that the organization would finished the project ahead of the agreed deadline.
Speaking on behalf of the Concerned Citizens Forum of Yabo, Dr Zayyanu Ladan said the staff had been making efforts to restore electricity and improve security in the area.
He commended Maitafsir for sponsoring the project, noting that he had moreover provided handsets to regional vigilantes and a vehicle for cemetery services.
He furthermore urged Kaduna Electric to confirm a usual power provide once the restoration effort was completed.
The APC chairman in Shagari, Muhammad Sarduuna, commended Maitafsir for his support to constituents, citing the distribution of six truckloads of grains, N10 million and motorcycles.
Similarly, the APC chairman in Yabo, Alhaji Salisu Tela, said residents had extended anticipated the restoration project.
Some speakers at the ceremony urged the people to reciprocate the gesture by voting massively for the party in the forthcoming elections.
