Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to leveraging network-based tourism as a driver of economic diversification during a attend to Ekinrin-Adde in Kogi.

Activities included a youth carnival organised by student bodies, essay competitions across primary, additional, and tertiary institutions, hiking competitions, and an awards ceremony recognising distinguished sons and daughters of the population.
The festival, deeply rooted in the conventional Recent Yam celebration, served as a homecoming event for indigenes and a platform to honour excellence across generations.

Awakan, who joined indigenes and stakeholders at the 2026 Omo Atata and Ekinrin-Adde Day celebrations, a week-enduring cultural festival that combines heritage, network recognition and development-focused initiatives, emphasised the fundamental role of regional communities in sustainable tourism development although adding that the Authority would labor closely including the society to elevate the festival’s profile nationally and internationally.
The DG further noted that the NTDA would research the inclusion of the festival in Nigeria’s countrywide tourism calendar and collaborate using stakeholders, including the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), to upgrade visibility and participation.
