Wema Bank has strengthened its support for Nigerian businesses seeking to compete in worldwide markets alongside the productive completion of the second edition of its Export Manage Academy (WETA), which supplied greater than 500 firm owners using functional knowledge and resources for world commerce.

Held in Lagos, the two-day programme brought together exporters, SMEs, commodity aggregators, commerce associations, regulators and universal swap professionals to evaluation the opportunities and challenges involved in exporting Nigerian products and services.

Participants received practical counsel on identifying possible export opportunities, meeting cross-border buyer requirements, documentation, regulatory compliance, financing, logistics and uncertainty path.

Experts from the Key Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Nigerian Customs Offering (NCS), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and Domestic Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Command (NAFDAC), alongside personal-sector practitioners, led sessions during the academy.

Speaking on the programme, Wema Bank’s Deputy Managing Leader, Oluwole Ajimisinmi, said Nigeria had fundamental entrepreneurial feasible and businesses competent of competing successfully beyond the country’s borders.

He said admission to knowledge, financing, partnerships and the right connections remained critical to unlocking that achievable.

“At Wema Bank, we recognise that the promising of Nigerian businesses in worldwide address can simply be fully realised when they have availability to the right knowledge, the right connections, and the right financial assistance,” Ajimisinmi said.

He added that WETA was designed to assist businesses grasp the export ecosystem, associate including relevant stakeholders and create the capacity required to involve sustainably in worldwide swap.

Deputy Manager at NAFDAC, Oluseyi Sanyaolu, stressed the importance of understanding regulatory requirements when taking Nigerian products into universal markets.

Participants too used the programme to review their businesses from a international-promote angle.
